the only reason greenburg is giving this speech is because he wants to bring production into
the agency - remember guys ceo mentality - expansion - now the reality is what directoral talent
would want to hook up 100% with one agency ?
  • jsepoch · 2 months ago
the main reason greenberg gave for the production company model being
dead is agencies will bring it in house. they need it to find another
    revenue source.

the problem of course is exactly what you pointed out. what talented
director is going to limit themselves to working with a handful of
clients and being assigned projects as oppose to choose them?

there is a reason very talented agency guys leave to direct rather
than remain in the system...noam murro, stacy wall, randy krallman,
tom kuntz, frank budgeon, tim godsall, matt aselton, frank todaro,
bryan buckley, jim jenkins, should i go on.

    Thoughts from the middle coast:
Keep old school wisdom and use it with new world savvy.
All we want to do is collaborate with like minds while making a living.
    Our business IS personal.

And another thing from Mark Twain: ""Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."
